Play Double Attack Blackjack for Free
Since Double Attack Blackjack is not your standard blackjack game, you should try it before you wager actual money on it. What better way to do that than a free-to-play demo version! Below, you will find just that, so you can practice all you want and familiarise yourself with the game. You can also test out strategies without the risk of losing anything!
Rules & Features
Double Attack Blackjack is a game played with 8 Spanish decks – that means that all 10s are removed from them, making each deck a total of 48 cards. The goal of the game is identical to the traditional version of blackjack – you need to be closer to 21 than the dealer, without busting. Once the initial bets are placed, a single face-up card is dealt to the dealer. At this time, you can place a second ‘double attack’ bet, which will be added to your initial one. After this is done, the rest of the cards are dealt normally.
In addition to the usual Hit and Stand actions, players can also Split any pair of cards. Split Aces get only one more card, while other pairs can be hit as much as you want.
If you decide to split, you must place an additional bet equal to your total bet. Re-splits are available, up to four times.
There are also the options to Double Down, Surrender or take Insurance. The dealer always stands on a soft 17 and natural blackjack pays 1:1.
The ‘Bust It!’ Side Bet
The optional side bet featured at Double Attack Blackjack is called ‘Bust It!’, and it involves wagering on the chance that the dealer will bust with exactly three cards. You can place this side bet before the round begins, and it will be settled even if you decide to surrender. ‘Bust It!’ has several different payouts, with the largest one being 200:1 – it occurs if the dealer busts with three suited eights. If the dealer busts with three eights of the same colour, the payout is 50:1. Depending on the bust card, the other payouts are the following:
- Six – 15:1
- Seven – 10:1
- Eight – 8:1
- Nine – 6:1
- Face Card – 3:1
We had much fun with the ‘Bust It!’, and it has some outstanding payout rates. Sure, the chances of you getting that 200:1 payout is really small, but this only adds to the excitement of the game.
Payouts & RTP
The theoretical RTP of Double Attack Blackjack is very high, which is a bit unusual for a spin-off game. It clocks at 99.53%, which is better than some classic blackjack games! Unfortunately, blackjacks pay 1:1, instead of the player-favoured 3:2 – but this is not such a big deal when the casino advantage is so low. Also, Insurance pays 5:2, which is really good. Still, the move itself is not recommended by veteran players – so don’t let the big payout fool you.
Strategy for Double Attack Blackjack
Double Attack Blackjack obeys the rules of traditional Las Vegas Strip rules, which means that all standard blackjack strategy charts will work just fine. General rules apply, including doubling down on 9, 10 and 11, always splitting Aces and never hitting if your points are 17 or above. Here are some game-specific tips for Double Attack Blackjack.
Double Attack Blackjack Strategy Strategies
- Use the ‘Double Attack’ option when the dealer’s card is low – from 2 to 8. Doubling your bet when the dealer’s up card is from 9 to Ace is not a good idea.
- Insurance in this game is slightly more favourable, because of the high payout rate. Take insurance unless 10-valued cards are visible on the field. For example, you would buy insurance if you have two sevens against an Ace, but not if you have a Jack and an 8 against an Ace.
